The law is fundamental to our everyday lives. It governs everything from traffic rules to marriage to when we can first vote. An understanding of the law and the legal system of the United States is beneficial to everyone, regardless of whether you join a profession that makes laws or enforces them.
The Legal Studies minor is designed to encourage ethical thinking in legal problem solving. Studying law enhances analytical skills that are needed in professional life. The Legal Studies minor is available to business students with the completion of four courses; the liberal arts major must take LGLS 211 Legal Environment of Business in conjunction with the LGLS minor courses. Students can select LGLS courses that will prepare them for law school, give them information that will be valuable in the United States and around the globe, or simply offer a better understanding of law and government.
