What are the assignments?

• Weekly assessment of local and regional issues (use the Internet, newspapers and news magazines)

• Submit one question about the assigned readings each week (typed); include a Website to back up your viewpoint (may be submitted by e-mail).

• Maintain a notebook of articles about local, regional, national and international environmental policies (record references and Website addresses for all articles); prepare and submit Findings of Fact at end of course, based on your research (Written Assignment #5).

• Maintain a journal of all e-mails sent to collaborators after 3/1/99

• Complete the following written assignments: (dates to be assigned)

#1 Toxic waste assessment (local contamination)
#2 Superfund cleanup analysis (using EPA information sheets)
#3 Characterize an environmental technology company
#4 Case write-up of a Belarusian environmental issue
#5 Research on an individualized topic of interest (Findings of Fact)
#6 Completed field trip report form
